The Neurology of Vision
This volume begins with an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the visual pathways and then focuses on the principles of localising pathology when symptoms of visual disorders appear. Since visual symptoms often accompany neurological problems such as multiple sclerosis, optic neuritis 'double vision', migraine and epilepsy 'visual auras', brain tumours and vascular disease, the patient may be referred either to/or from the neurologist or ophthalmologist. The basic neurological examination includes evaluation of the cranial nerves responsible for visual function and disturbance. The Neurology of Vision includes appendices that describe 'How to Perform Visual Function Tests'.
