Male Sexual Dysfunction
Male Sexual Dysfunction is divided into two sections, the first on erectile failure (impotence) and the second on ejaculatory dysfunction. All chapters are well illustrated with bullet points and algorithms, and readers will be able to use these to plan appropriate strategies for their patients. Section 1 starts with a chapter defining the prevalence of erectile failure (impotence), and continues with chapters discussing applied anatomy and physiology, in sufficient depth for the reader to develop an understanding of the different points at which pathology can develop.
Section 2 follows a similar format with a discussion of the prevalence of ejaculatory dysfunction, and a brief review of relevant anatomy and physiology. Chapters are then devoted to the various abnormalities that can develop, including anejaculation, retrograde ejaculation and such practical topics as haematospermia and ejaculatory pain.
* an emphasis on shared care and the appropriate point for onward referral, and the realistic expectations that a patient should have
* forms a practical guide which will be both useful and interesting to the non-specialist
* chapters will describe the salient features of these different types of erectile failure, investigation pathways and the therapeutic options available
