Orofacial Pain From Basic Science to Clinical Management
Written by leading researchers and educators in the field of orofacial pain, this book bridges the gap in the transfer of information from pain research to education and clinical dentistry. Emerging scientific evidence is presented in basic terms for dental students and for practicing dentists to integrate into patient care.
Preface:
From the preface: In preparing this book, we have tried to include the major topics that would be found in an undergraduate curriculum. In particular, we made sure that acute pain and chronic pain states other than TMD were covered. Each of us took responsibility for one of the four major sections of the book and worked with the authors of the papers to ensure a uniformity of expression and continuity of content within and between the sections. We have tried to make sure that the book provides a comprehensive, integrated synthesis of the topic, and that it is not just a series of unconnected chapters.
