Preface:
For this new edition, explanatory commentaries and orentation diagrams have been provided to help readers to understand exactly what they are looking at, and to offer guidance on what is most important. There are over 50 new illustrations, including examples of the new imaging techniques which are now routinely used in clinical investigations and which provide such an important linnk between the academic and applied aspects of anatomy. In view of the popularity of the atlas with students of dentistry, we have included an appendix on the anatomical background to dental anaesthesia.
Despite the additions and changes, the atlas remains entirely compatible for use with Berkovitz and Moxham's A Textbook of Head and Neck Anatomy, since all existing key numbers have been retained and nay new ones are additional.
We hope the atlas will continue to meet the needs of all those students in medical and paramedical disciplines who need a visual presentation of the anatomy of the head and neck - an intricate and fascinating part of the human body.
